Google translate service - http://translate.google.com/ - is the most popular way to translate a text in the web. Client for Google Translate does this by instantly translating a selected text from various applications or from the web. For example, if you need to translate a text from a Word document or a Web page, you just need to select the text and click on the G icon that appears beside the text. The translation window will pop up immediately with the text translated into the language you've chosen.
Clicking on the G icon from the Windows taskbar prompts the application to open a window into which you can copy/paste the text. This is very useful for larger texts.
